Kidney weakness shows in loss of condition and appetite, loss of interest and a certain dullness, possible intermittent vomiting, and/or thirstiness. What is really involved is the interdependent health of the adrenal glands and the kidneys.
Acidosis is only normally found in racing greyhounds whose kidneys are placed under stress through over adrenalisation (also through electrolyte abuse) and will not be found in companion dogs under normal circumstances.
Signs of a kidney problem include:
- Increased or excessive urination
- Mouth sores, bleeding or pale gums
- Bad breath
- Lethargy
- Depression
- Stumbling

For the greyhounds I recommend that, after a course of our special mix of Kidney Bleeding tonic, they continue with the normal Kidney Weakness Mix. After three weeks or so the dog may then return to the Top Performance Mix.
