Pneumonia Acute - McDowell's Herbal Treatments

yca1.jpg

Pneumonia is a secondary infection that strikes when your immunity is lowered with a previous cold, flu or a strep throat, following a heart attack, after any surgery and/or post surgery shock. In fact it is the most common fatal infection acquired in hospitals.

Those at greater risk are the younger, older, alcoholics, cigarette smokers, diabetics and those with an impaired or suppressed immune sysytem. Pneumonia can attack with speed within a day.

Symptoms include an extreme coldness, resulting in an icy body, chest pain, fever, shortness of breath, cough that produces sputum.

Humans often we don't wear enough clothes in winter. Our grandmothers had the right idea with singlets, vests, woolly hats and overcoats. Treatment needs to include deep breathing exercises and therapy to clear secretions.

On an emotional level pneomonia sufferers are desperately tired of life and need to take time to heal their emotional wounds.

In my mix I include Garlic, Elecampane, Liquorice, Yarrow, Rosehips and Parsley along with the Bach Flowers Olive, Oak and Rescue Remedy. These herbs together remove infection, support the adrenals, clear the lungs and boost the immune system.
