Pelvic Inflammatory Disease - McDowell's Herbal Treatments

Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID) is an inflammation of the fallopian tubes which occurs mainly in sexually active women with bacteria entering via the vagina or bacteria from the use of Intra Uterine Devices (IUD's), and the result of infections from STD's such as Chlamydia and Gonorrhea. 

Long term effects of PID are;

  • Formation of scar tissue both outside and inside the fallopian tubes than can lead to tubal blockage
  • Ectopic pregnancy (pregnancy outside the womb)

PID symptoms usually include:

  • Pain in your lower abdomen
  • Fever

  • Burning sensation during urination
  • Bleeding between periods
