5 benefits of detoxing your horse with zeolite! - McDowell's Herbal Treatments

Our horses can potentially be exposed to a variety of chemicals and heavy metals. From the pesticides and chemicals used on growing and producing hay/feed, chemical based wormers, heavy metals present in soils, herbicides used to spray paddocks, chemicals in water supplies and any additional care products we use on them, their system can become overloaded and result in poor health.

Zeolites are naturally occurring clay-like substances that come from volcanic earth. They are porous and are used for removing various pollutants and heavy metals in the atmosphere, earth and water. Natural zeolites are formed when volcanic rocks react with alkaline water and the arrangement of their atoms allows them to act as a ‘sponge’.

Zeolite is helpful for both humans and animals. When it’s ingested, it detoxifies the body of harmful toxins like mercury, lead, aluminium, arsenic, plastic residues. It even removes radioactive isotopes like plutonium and uranium!

Without getting too technical, McDowells Zeolite is 85% natural Clinoptilolite zeolite! Clinoptilolite Zeolite is a combination silica and alumina tetrahedra. It is the most widely used zeolite, but a rare form.

The 5 keys reasons to use zeolite to detoxify your horse:

  • Gastrointestinal protective effects and improves intestinal permeability, or ‘leaky gut’ (1) (2) (6)
  • Improve feed efficiency (3)
  • Enhances immunity (3)
  • Positive effects on nutritional absorption and the digestive tract (4) (5)
  • Elimination of heavy metals (through chelation)

Research shows that Zeolite helps remove the following heavy metals;
• Arsenic
• Cadmium
• Caesium
• Chromium
• Cobalt
• Copper
• Lead
• Manganese
• Mercury (weak)
• Molybdenum
• Nickel
• Uranium
• Zinc

NOTES:
Ensure your horse has access to plenty of fresh clean water whilst taking zeolite. It works best on a full stomach, so administer it with food.

NB: Zeolite has been approved by the FDA and a non-toxic safe supplement to use under GRAS status.
