Coeliac Disease Herbal Treatment - McDowell's Herbal Treatments

danh1.jpg

Coeliac Disease is an hereditary disease in which gluten, found mostly in wheat but also in rye and barley grains (oats has now officially been declared safe for a coeliac diet ) causes an allergic reaction affecting the inner surface of the intestine causing poor absorption of fats from the diet resulting in malnutrition, painful abdominal bloating and pale, bulky, foul smelling stools.

Gluten combines with antibodies in the small intestine and flattens the brush like lining making it much less able to digest and absorb as normal.

Some infants and children may suffer from it but have no symptoms until older.

The resulting malnutrition can cause malformed bones, anaemia, bruising and more serious long term problems.

Even eating small amounts of gluten can cause these symptoms so food labels must be read diligently as gluten is added to many commercial foods.

Coeliac Disease is often the result of nervous distress so I recommend to my patients that they address any issues that they are aware of.

Start with a course of Slippery Elm Bark Powder.

One dessertspoon daily mixed into a paste with cold Chamomile Tea and taken for a continuous period of 12 weeks. Slippery Elm provides a protective lining to the mucosal lining of the gastro intestinal system, and in 12 weeks will completely heal any irritated areas.

The herbal extract mix includes the safe extract form of Fenugreek, Oats, Slippery Elm, Agrimony and Dandelion along with the Bach Flowers Larch, Impatiens and Agrimony. These herbs will together add the vital Vitamin B's, Iron and Vit. E.

This mix will retrain the body but particularly the liver to complete the digestion processes as required.
