There is space on Winterwood Farm dedicated to kangaroos and wildlife.
All the land around Winterwood is agricultural land and quite a few farmers shoot kangaroos. They do this in the belief that kangaroos are competing with their own stock for feed, despite the fact that science shows that one cow eats the same as fifty kangaroos!
We are destroying kangaroo habitat at an incredibly rapid rate. Drought, urbanisation and development, road accidents, modern agriculture and competition from stock, and degradation of water sources all impact kangaroo numbers.
