My Connemara pony was diagnosed with Insulin Resistence in December 2021.
He had been struggling with his weight on and off for about a year but when the spring grass came through last year he just ballooned and had a horrendous crest.
I consulted the vet who took bloods and confirmed early EMS. He was already on a low sugar diet and we restricted his access to fresh grass.
I asked McDowells for advice and ordered the IR program and within a week of starting him on it he began to lose that bloated look and his crest started to reduce significantly.
I am continuing with the products which he just loves (I worried needlessly as he is a fussy eater!) and have just topped up my supply of Metabolic-S and plan to have his bloods checked again soon to confirm what my eyes are telling me ie his metabolism is working much better and his insulin sensitivity has improved.
