Matilda foaled down a lovely little filly on Sunday. Both she and the foal, Nimue, are doing very well.
The photos cannot show just how gleaming both Tilly and Nim's coats are. Those that are used to seeing foals all notice just how healthy the foals coat is especially. She has a natural show shine! They are both gleaming and the foal is gaining weight quickly because mum has an abundance of milk.
Today will be the first time in a paddock which has very short grass so they can graze and the foal just wants to run and play. It is obviously feeling stella!
I am hopeful that with the burden of milking and the months spent carefully getting Tilly back on track that even though we have had rain and the grass is active that she will be ok. Before foal she had gotten to the stage of night grazing and even going out once or twice into the paddock with belly high Rhodes and panic to graze for an hour or so.
Your advice has been invaluable and the proof is in the very healthy mum and foal.
Today was sunny and I have attached a photo shoeing Nim's coat shine. She is thriving and is growing well.
