Wanted to give a quick update on Domino. The top pics are as we were beginning the Cushing-S, the bottom pics are six months after.
He is mid to late 20's, has cushings, and was on 'Prascend' when I got him. He had a few episodes of laminitis, and in the process of them treating that, went into colic and then a bad sinus infection. After a time in the hospital, he improved, but was so lethargic and stiff.
I contacted you because I felt so helpless. All the vet wanted to do was increase the Prascend.
I began the Cushing-S when they raised his dose to 2 tablets. On the increased dose his ACTH went from 155 to 195. After beginning the Cushings-S, I began decreasing his dose a 1/2 tab at a time, slowly.
I also followed your suggestion to take him off the feed with soy and replaced with soy-free feed with some beet pulp and wheat bran.
Took him off the joint supplements he was on and replaced with a supplement called Equinety. I am beyond happy to let you know that his last ACTH was 47, which is still above the cutoff of 35, but so much improved.
He has gained weight, has more energy, and appears to be a much happier horse. The plan is to continue decreasing the prascend until he is completely off of it, but want to go slow so as not to change things too quickly. This has been a slow process, but can never thank you enough for the time you took answering my endless questions and offering your expert advice.

UPDATE
I'm absolutely blown away with the improvement in him. He's gone from a horse that couldn't even hold a trot, to one that is now back to trotting poles, cantering and just so much happier. I'll attach before and after pictures. We still have a ways to go, but would never have gotten to this point without the time and caring from Mcdowell's.
