In February, my two year old quarter horse gelding was diagnosed with a benign tumour on his temple that was growing at a fairly rapid rate. I consulted several veterinarians who all confirmed that the tumour could not be removed surgically as it would likely result in him losing his eye and they had no other options for treating the tumour.
Soon after I contacted McDowell's to see if the tumour could be treated with herbal remedies and I was soon after contacted by Cath who provided advice on diet and relevant herbs to treat the tumour.
I have to admit, I was extremely sceptical that it would work but as I had no other options available, I decided to give it a go!
Cath's advice was to be consistent and so consistent I was. I took photos so I could monitor my progress along the way as it was hard to see any changes in the tumour when you see it every day. After one month the tumour looked like it had decreased in size, albeit only very slightly.
At least it hadn't got any bigger. I continued with the treatment and monitored for changes and the tumour kept reducing in size. It took 5 months of treating the tumour with herbs before it was gone completely!
The best part of treating the tumour with herbs was that there was no pain or discomfort and therefore no stress to the horse, no scarring and no expensive surgery bills.
I can't recommend McDowell's enough, the advice they gave me for the treatment of my horse's tumour was invaluable.
