Just wanted to give you another update on Jae, my 21 year old QH mare. It has been about 5 or 6 weeks now since she has been on the Equigesta-Pre slippery elm bark (with chamomile and rosehips added) for her syndrome and she continues to be "dry".
If you recall, she had a chronic problem with watery diarrhea like discharge off and on but most recently it had persisted on a daily basis for most of the winter. If I remember correctly,
Jae was on the treatment for less than a week when the problem cleared up totally and she has been great ever since. As you suggested I will keep her on the herbs for 12 weeks to insure that any irritation to her intenstinal tract is completely healed.
I am so grateful for your help, Catherine. As I mentioned it has been a chronic problem off and on for years and several vets have recommended and tried different things but nothing ever made a difference. Besides having to clean the mess constantly, I worried about her not getting all the nutrients from her feed and what damage might be caused internally. I know it bothered her as well because when it would happen, she would swish her tail and sometimes stamp her foot. I am sure she feels much better!
We are both very grateful to you! Attached please find a picture of her :)
Thank you again!
