BJ's Sinus Cavity Problems - McDowell's Herbal Treatments

I just wanted to send through a note to thank you and your team for all your help with our horse, BJ.
As you may remember I first contacted your office back in February this year following 2 failed batches of surgery he had had for an infected tooth.

When we bought BJ he was extremely underweight but we thought with a bit of love, attention and feed that would be enough to remedy his condition.

Unfortunately it was discovered a short time later that he had a tooth infection which had gone through to his sinus cavity. Once the foul smelling discharge from one nostril signalled the problems we had him x-rayed to confirm and then the vet suggested surgery to remove the tooth and clean the sinus. It was a 3 hour long surgery and due to the time laying down he also lost feeling in one front leg, not to mention getting myositis. Thankfully we have a lovely Bowen therapist who got him back on his feet.

He had to then endure a second surgery when the implant (fake tooth to stop food getting into the sinus cavity) became stuck and would not come out. As you know the implant is used only until the proud flesh grows into the hole where the tooth was. The implant was causing a foreign body reaction and had to go.

Luckily the second operation went ok and he was able to come home about a month later.

BJ had spent nearly four months in hospital by that stage but at least he looked to be fully recovered. It didn't last long though and after only a few weeks back home he had the discharge again and the side of his face had swollen up quite considerably. I was told by the vets that they would need to operate again or put him to sleep. After speaking to a few other people who had been through the same things we thanked the vets and gave you a call.

With the advice given to us and in conjunction with the herbal medications I can now happily report that BJ has fully recovered. It took 8 months on the medicine (Infect-A-Clear and Chronic Sinus Mix ) but it did fix the problem. I hope that you are able to share this story with some of your customers and assure them that they can get their horses through these sorts of chronic sinus infections and back to optimum health. Although it took a lot of time and cleaning out the sinus through the side of his face was not a pleasant job I don't in any way regret going away from vet treatment for BJ. In fact, I kick myself that I didn't call you sooner.

On another positive and unrelated note I bought some canine heart tonic for our older dog who has developed a heart murmur. At his last vet check it was quite easy to hear and Jake had also slowed down quite a bit, sleeping more and not joining in the games with our other dog as much. The vet mentioned some medication that we could use but considering all the success with BJ we decided to give the heart tonic a go first. Well, we're just over half way through the bottle and Jake is almost back to normal. His energy levels are up and he's back chasing tennis balls at every opportunity. I'll be interested to hear what the vet has to say at his next check up.

I can't thank you and your team enough for all their help and advice with BJ. I truly think that he would not still be here if we hadn't given the herbal medicines a go.

Kind regards

Nicole Rosevear
