"My Welsh pony, Shanko, had been suffering from chronic sinusitis for about six months when I contacted Catherine at McDowells Herbal Treatments. In that time he had been visited by both my vet, (numerous times), and equine dentist, and had had several courses of different antibiotics, all to no avail.
My vet recommended bringing him to the surgery, so that he could X-ray him, and then, possibly, open up the infected sinus to flush it out.
As my boy is nearly 30, and hates both vets AND travelling, I was understandably reluctant to put him through such an ordeal.
After several days spent searching the Internet for a solution, I contacted Cath who recommended the Infect-A-Clear, plus a herbal 'tea' of Dandelion leaf, Rosehip granules, Fenugreek seeds and Chamomile. He was also to have molasses and garlic, plus linseed and crushed white millet.
I gathered all of the ingredients and started him off on the treatment. Several of my fellow horse owning friends clearly thought I was mad!
I was hopeful however, having used herbal remedies before for minor ailments. However, even I was amazed at the speed with which the herbs 'kicked in'! We had several days where his nose streamed with a thick white discharge, (just as Cath had said it would!), this then gradually slowed to a trickle and, after a week or so, completely dried up and has not returned.
Shanko is also looking healthier and happier overall. My friends have been forced to eat their words, one even going so far as to say, "If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, I would not have believed it!" I have no doubt that Cath saved him from what would have been a highly unpleasant veterinary procedure, and for that I am so very grateful."
