Aurla November 2022 at 5 1/2 years
Aurla continues to do very well on her McDowells herbal protocol.
The main change we have made, since the article was written, is to feed Aurla a fresh frozen, human-grade, renal diet mixed with organic canned chicken and turkey paté and one cooked fresh egg per day. For “dessert” Aurla gets organic, low protein, pumpkin biscuits which help to boost her calorie intake.
We have also discontinued the meds for her appetite with this new improved diet and only occasionally give her Cerenia (maropitant citrate) as needed.
Because Aurla had experienced an open pyometra after her Spring season this year, on your advice, she was given the McDowells Uterine Infections Mix post-estrus this Fall. There was no sign of infection whatsoever and I have to think that it was due, at least in part, to the herbal treatment. I will be sure to purchase another bottle when she comes in season again.
Aurla is a lovely, happy, funny girl and she and I thank you for your support through the years.
