"Indy had a hyper-extended carpus from birth. Her options were conservative management (with a poor prognosis) or arthrodesis, which carried it's own risks and an almost 100% chance of arthritis and pain developing.
I choose the conservative route.
I acupunctured the insertion points on the palmer ligaments and the deep and superficial flexors.
She is on Prancing Pooch, Mobility, the Bone Repair mix for dogs (which mad the biggest difference) and Forever Young. I also 'K' taped her legs whilst it was being treated.
I have maintained and improved the palmer angle such that she is no longer limping at all. It's an ongoing challenge but and her gait won't ever be totally normal but she's more comfortable than if she'd had surgery and most people don't even notice!"
