Thank you for all your support - the special herbal formulas you provided to support Phowa's recovery from cancer made a huge difference. We appreciate your personal attention and the care you took with us. After his surgery (splenectomy) it was like he had a whole new life and we opted for the natural protocol of raw diet and herbs, rather than the chemical drugs. In the end, he outlived our vet's prognosis, even the prognosis with chemo. He was the Miracle Dog and the Comeback King!
Phowa passed on Thursday afternoon, July 17 - ironically, that's just when our latest order for the lung support arrived! It was just his time to go.
This last week was very difficult for Phowa and he was ready to pass on. He lived with this aggressive cancer 160 days after his surgery and diagnosis of hemangiosarcoma, once again defying the odds! This was a testament to your natural protocols.
It was a tranquil and peaceful transition - I was able to perform the shamanic Death Rites and release him energetically form my heart before he went. His lungs were failing but his heart was huge and strong with love, beating on.
We had already called our vet the day before to ask if he could come over to the house and assess his situation and he arrived an hour after the Death Rites. He took one look at his condition and said he was really suffering. So we gave him the go ahead to assist Phowa physically moving on, to end the suffering of his body with dignity and honour. He was on his own bed in our backyard under the boughs of a tree, surrounded by pillows and flowers, while birds gathered to sing. A soft breeze cleared the space, we held him and then said Good Bye.
His timing was immaculate - he waited until after my birthday passed, for a clear day just before a full moon. We did a fire in his honour on Friday night. There have been so many synchronistic signs and symbols showing up over the weekend - animals, feathers, flowers, dreams, computer anomalies...
We are grateful for all the lessons that Phowa brought us in the past 8 years, and for the opportunity to deeply express our love with another being who was utterly selfless and unconditional. I am humbled by this experience in life.
Last Thursday was a time for courage and peace, and the last few days there has been more sadness and emptiness, but it is all good. We probably spent more time with him than most people in our lives. We are blessed. You can understand I'm sure.
Outside, it is a beautiful day - the birds chirping, a squirrel climbing a bush in search of food, Sheena (our other doggie) taking a nap... Life goes on. And Phowa is now inseparable from Life itself. He is One with Spirit.
