Over twelve years ago our family was blessed with Susie. She was found in a box left on the side of a road in the Dallas Forth Worth area of Texas.
Susie is almost what you would consider a celebrity. She and I drive through town doing errands and every stop we make it seems someone knows Susie. Whether it is the dry cleaners, the pharmacy, the gas station or the post office, someone knows Susie and usually she gets a treat. Susie was well known in her truck, which we called "Susie's truck", but her truck was lost in the 2007 floods in Texas. So Susie got a new car, a BMW. It is easier for the gently aging Susie to get in and out of. She approves.
It has now been over a year since Susie was diagnosed with cancer. We noticed some drainage from her mammary glands and a strange odor and a lump. We kept hoping it was anything but cancer. We took her to the vet clinic and they gave us several options, one being to remove the lump. After careful consideration we decided to allow Susie to have her lump removed and a biopsy taken of her lump. During this time and several years prior Susie's skin had rashes, due to what they called allergies, her eyes itched, she would get ear infections and was lethargic yet still continued to have the most amazing personality. Susie has always been polite, neat, very clean and very loving, even though she is part Chow and Newfoundland. I don't think she realizes her size, she is 82 pounds and once again fluffy and beautiful. Her best friends are two elderly cats, Bo Bo and E.T..
Susie's made it through the surgery with flying colors. And then we found out the biopsy results. She had cancer and the vet gave her only a few months, if that, to live. We were devastated, crushed, felt hopeless and felt worse for Susie. Many tears flowed, but then we started talking to other people who had experienced cancer with their pets. I talked to a lady whose horse had skin cancer and was told he had only months to live. The horse is still living and this is years later. The lady told me about Robert McDowell and his herbal treatments in Australia. I began asking the doctor and his staff questions and they gave us life changing information. Susie was prescribed herbs and she looks better than ever, has more energy and a very healthy appetite, over a year after being told she had cancer and less than a few months to live.
