I am a happy woman with a happy dog! - McDowell's Herbal Treatments

In November, my nine year old Bouvier, Sika, had an emergency splenectomy with massive blood loss. A tumor about the size of a tennisball was found on the spleen, and the whole spleen was removed because of the massive bleeding (hematocrit 22, dropped to 18 after the operation). Ten days later the biopsy revealed that it was a highly malignant hemangiosarcoma.

Being a vet myself, I explored all possible options including, of course, chemotherapy. The oncologist told me that the average survival time after splenectomy is 2 months without treatment. With chemotherapy, this survival time could be expanded to 5-6 months....... I was close to desperate to keep my best friend a bit longer with me, but decided not to go ahead with chemotherapy because I felt it would be selfish and unfair towards the dog to make her sick due to the side-effects.

In need to do "something", I started surfing the internet and came across your website. Of course, you live on the other side of the globe........ (I live in Belgium, EU). Still, I decided to order some of the drops, although I did not really believe in that kind of medicine. Also, my vet friends had a good laugh about it!

In December, I started Sika on the hemangiosarcoma program with the maritime pine bark. I also gave her a high dose of omega 3 fatty acids. At that time, the dog was fully recovered from the operation. She gained weight until she was completely back to her old self and all went well.

Two weeks ago, she suddenly got very tired, I panicked, took some blood and it revealed that she had anemia again (hematocrit 34,9). But this was the only symptom, other than than she had a good appetite and nothing seemed wrong. Physical examination revealed no abnormalities either, just tired due to the anemia. We decided to keep a close eye on her and to control the hematocrit one week later. She got less tired and 1 week later, the hematocrit went up to 39 (still too low, but better). I (and my vet friends at the clinic) do not have a clue why she had this spell of anemia........ However, she is OK now, went to the dog training with me yesterday and was happy as ever. I wish I could open a window to her body and have a look at all the organs......

Anyway, we are now 4 1/2 months after operation and I have decided to keep my 2 feet on the ground at least until we're 6 months far (12 May!!). On 22 May, she will be 10 years old.

So we have already beaten the '2 months survival time' statistics, and are on our way to beating the "5-6 months chemotherapy survival time"...

Despite my old "ideas" about herbal medicine, I am now starting to get convinced that if it weren't for your treatments, I would probably not have Sika anymore. And there are no side effects at all, oh yes, there is one.....she is even more greedy now, always hungry, requesting her extra food with drops on in the morning and evening!!

As you know, she was getting oestrogen supplements for urinary incontinence but the results were not very good. On 17 january I stopped giving these drugs and replaced them by your incontinence mix. She still has a few "accidents" from time to time, but less often than with the oestrogen and especially smaller quantities!!!

Conclusion: I am a happy woman with a happy dog!!!

All great news for now. I will get back to you on Sika's 10th birthday if she makes it........!!!!

Thanks again!
