Mcdowells Herbal is thrilled to announce that they have been awarded a Highly Commended in the Clinic of the Year category in the awards presented by the Australian Traditional Medicine Society (ATMS).
To be eligible for the ‘Clinic of the Year' award the practice had to demonstrate excellence in their contributions to their profession, industry, and overall commitment to the advancement of the health of the Australian community.
"Although we have been practising for over 20 years, as a clinic and manufacture that specialises in natural animal health, we were unsure if we would make the finals, so to win a highly commended is an absolute bonus” said Catherine McDowell.
“Our Practice if very different to the other entrants in this award as we are primarily an online business developing natural animal health programs for clients around the world” said Catherine.
Catherine writes for a number of international equine and canine health magazines and has also presented animal health lectures to ATMS members and was a keynote speaker at Equitana last year. From her clinic and manufacturing facility in Bathurst NSW, Catherine and her team treat her 30,000 clients from Australia and overseas offering support and real positive health outcomes where often hope was lost.
“A key feature of my practice is to provide free support to all clients who need us- irrespective if they purchase products or not. We will always try to assist anyone who has a need.
My journey from farm kid to a leader in alternative natural therapies for animals has all been about helping them get better, and along the way I believe I have changed many lives for the better”.
Catherine puts down the success of her business to the clients she helps.

While the struggle to get natural health, therapies accepted as a legitimate alternative has and continues to be a challenge, I believe the results speak for themselves. The Clinic of the Year Award was presented to Catherine on Saturday 16th November by Marcus Blackmore in dedication to his father Maurice Blackmore the founder of natural medicines company Blackmores.
This is a wonderful achievement given that McDowells is a very different practice treating animals as well as humans! That we made it to the finals and have also been awarded a HIGHLY COMMENDED is wonderful recognition by our esteemed peers!
