Swampy meadows are a near extinct ecosystem in many water ways. Winter wood farm is at the head catchment for a small water way that leads to the Windburndale rivulet approx 20 kilometres away.
There is about 1/2 acre of swampy meadow that is slowly regenerating.
We also have been allowing the 200 acres we are responsible for to regenerate natural pasture. 'Hairy panic' is the main coloniser plant along with 'kangaroo grass'.
Tall stands of yellow box and other gums gently sit in the undulating landscape creating a picturesque scene.
With this regeneration the wildlife is slowly returning. Falcons , eagles and grass parrots all living gently in the space.
The farm is alive with activity!
