This can be caused by damage to vertebra or to disks that then puts pressure on this nerve which emerges at that sciatic nottch area. It can occur when we lift a load wrongly or lift too much. It usually oocurs only on one side and is much worse when still.
Symptoms of sciatica:
- A shooting pain along the sciatic nerve
- Numbness in the leg
- Pins and needles in the feet
Suggested treatments;
Movement like yoga, taichi, swimming, walking and stretching all help with sciatica. Specific movements include;
- Pelvic tilt
- Knee to chest
- Lower trunk rotations
- Opposite arm and leg extensions on all fours
