From a very young age I have loved horses. Living next door to my instructor, I was able to visit and get involved in horses that were agisted there. I got my first pony at age 7 and started Pony Club and attending local agricultural shows. I soon discovered that I loved to jump and started competing in show jumping and cross country through my school equestrian team. To do this I moved on to my first eventing horse, Freckles Renata, who pretty much taught me the art of eventing, which has now become my passion.
I trained another horse from 60 - 95cm in eventing and then sold him to a lovely eventing family in the Southern Highlands. The experience was great because it highlighted what I had learnt over a short time. I could clearly see the importance of training, care, good feeding and quality herbal products when it came to producing a great horse.I have also retrained smaller ponies for clients who need a smaller, lighter rider to retrain some bad habits and help make ponies safer for their children.
My latest horse, Doreen, is a thoroughbred that I am currently training and competing with. My dream is that she is going to take me to my next goal of competing 2* and 3* eventing. We are actively competing as well attending regular coaching in dressage, show jumping and cross country. I have been a part of the NSW Junior Eventing Squad and regularly attend Intermediate eventing clinics run by Eventing NSW.
I am really passionate about eventing and have a big dream of one day representing my country at some time in my riding career. I am hoping to compete at Adalaide International 3 Day Event in the next two years. These are big goals but I am a believer in setting my dreams out in to achieveable steps.
I am excited that McDowells Herbal will be coming along with me on this exciting ride!
