It has been a challenging year so far here on the farm in Dorrigo. By the last month of autumn, we had already had 1600ml of rain for the year so far. This has made riding and training rather minimal, with the focus on keeping the horses happy and healthy in their bodies.
In May, I travelled down to Victoria to spend some time as a working student with the horsemanship trainer and instructor, Rachel Clarkson. I spend a month and a half with Rachel, expanding on my horsemanship skills and assisting at clinics. I met many lovely people and horse and was able to share some of my passion for herbs with them.
I am now back at home on the farm and with the coming of winter the weather is starting to dry off and I am bringing my horses back into work. The Mcdowells Infecta-clear & Equigesta-Pre have been my absolute lifesavers while the climate has been so harsh on my creatures.
I have some great plans for the next few months ahead that I look forward to sharing with you.
