I am Lana Eastment! I am 16 years old and in Year 11 at Scots All Saints College in Bathurst, NSW.
My horse's name is Boonara Spellbound or 'Honey' and she is an Australian Stockhorse. She is a palomino mare and is 15hh, and 12 years old. I started riding when I was 7. I am in the Equestrian team at school. We do eventing and show jumping at 80cm. I do events with them at local shows and the main ones at the North West Expo in Coonabarabran and the Inter-school Horse Extravaganza at Tamworth.
I have lessons doing show jumping at school and dressage lessons at Winterwood Farm. When I am older, I would love to rehabilitate and train horse and maybe be an instructor as well. I am looking at doing the introduction instructor course to start with. I am looking at doing some courses or tafe that could help me with running my business.
When I leave school, I am hoping to go to the UK and work on a polo stud as a groom. I hope to learn more about the International polo circuit and to open my mind up to different disciplines of the horse industry. I would like to get some more experience with other horses in other places before I start training horses on my own.
Ultimately, I would like to have my own place where I can train them and work for myself.
