This is a photo of my 36 year old mare, PJ, after 2 months on Equigesta-pre and FHP.
This photo was taken in the middle of winter. She runs in a herd of three. She is barefoot trimmed and not rugged. As you can see she is alert and has a softness in her body and coat. This week I watched her play with the other two companions in the paddock. She actually kicked her back legs in the air and went for a gallop!
Thankyou so much for your kind support and amazing advice. She has made an astonishing recovery. I could see an improvement after two days on the program.
In March when I spoke to you, I was not able to support her well enough with my feeding program of Speedy Beet, sunflower oil and a mix of lucerne and oaten chaff.
She was very poor had extreme contraction in her hind end and all her muscles in this area were rock hard. She had rain scald right along her spine and was buckling at the knees. I thought she was going to starve to death. I do not have a photo of her then as I did not want a reminder of how awful she looked.
I am so grateful for your extensive knowledge in keeping horses well and the efficient manner in which you are able to share this knowledge.
You helped me with this mare many years ago when she contracted Ross River virus. She recovered quickly and very well with your wonderful support.
I find supporting my horses with your help is actually a more economical way of managing my horses health, by being pro active rather than re active.
Best wishes..
Robyn
