Again, thank you so much for your support and reassurance for helping me to restore this little broodmare to her former glory :)
I am sending you a pictorial of her, though please note the first four photos are not mine.
This is the mare from her younger days that got my attention;
She is a 10 year old brood mare, presently with an 8 month foal at foot and possibly in foal again. When the foal was born, the mare looked fat and shiny and healthy, now however she has lost a lot of condition. Her coat is dull, dry, dandruffy and patchy in places, mainly on her rump (probably scars from being lowest on the rank as she’s in with a mare who pushes her around). Her mane and tail are matted and it looks like she’s been rubbing her tail with broken strands close to her rump.
She is underweight, her spine and ribs are showing and her hooves are dry and overgrown.
I would like to know what you would suggest to bring this sweet mare back to optimal health, give her the best chance of growing and nursing yet another foal if she is indeed pregnant and recovering her beautiful black silver coat and growing her mane and tail.
This is when I first met her in October this year:
Here she is in Jan this year:
And her now at our place since Saturday:
