Lymphoma / Lymphosarcoma Cancer Support for Dogs - McDowell's Herbal Treatments

Sadly, Lymphoma is much more common in companion dogs nowadays. Vets and alternative practitioners (alike) are increasingly devoting much of their time to dogs (and cats) with Lymphoma. Older Vets will tell those who ask that Lymphoma was extremely rare in their early years of practice. Along with Osteosarcoma, Lymphoma is now one of the the most common canine cancer.

While there is limited evidence that meets modern scientific standards, increasing numbers of practitioners (alternative and orthodox veterinary) believe that changed diet and feeding practices, environmental pollution and significantly reduced activity levels correlate strongly with the increased incidence of canine cancers.

Dogs systems are called upon to digest far too much processed food, since the advent of commercial dog feed in the 1950's. Also, their evolutionary eating pattern has been subverted by over-feeding, which does not allow for periods of fasting which had previously enabled their metabolism to clear toxins from their systems. In addition the domesticated dog is almost never allowed to bury and retrieve a meaty bone and many have never had raw meat at all.

Our Herbalists see Lymphoma as the end result of a systemic and prolonged overload on the lymphatic system, the blood and the immune system in general, which may never have appeared without late 20th century feeding practices, but it is not the complete story. The vast majority people who approach us for help with their dogs who have Lymphoma are the most caring of owners and many of them have been trying to do the right thing by their dogs. A small number are not even guilty of any of the feeding practices that concern us, yet they too are almost overwhelmed by their sick four legged friend.

The Lymphoma Support Program includes four products to be used concurrently.

This Lymphoma Support Mix, which includes concentrated extracts of Bladderack, Elecampane, Dandelion, Maritime Pine Bark, Parsley, Rosehips, Wormwood, and Violet Leaves, along with Oak, Olive, Pine, Water Violet, Walnut and Wild Oat from the Bach Flower Remedies, is given in conjunction with a powerful antioxidant extract derived from the bark of the Maritime Pine Tree, (Maritime Pine Bark Extract). Together the two support mixes have the potential to slow the growth of the cancer and boost overall health. In addition they can assist in healing localized irritation and inflammation which may have resulted from the cancer.

The program also includes Infect-A-Clear and Colloidal Silver. Infect-A-Clear is a blood cleansing mix and contains alterative herbs which are high in iron and sulphur to detoxify the blood. The herbs restore the proper function of the body, usually through altering metabolism by improving the tissues' ability to metabolise nutrients and eliminate wastes. Many of these herbs act through the kidneys, liver, lungs, bowels, or skin to eliminate wastes. Blood cleansing herbs are employed to eliminate or neutralize toxins in the major organs of the body. Including the liver, kidneys, colon, lungs, lymph and skin.

McDowell’s Herbal Lymphoma Support Program can be used in conjunction with other alternative medicines or with orthodox medical treatments such as surgery, radiation and chemotherapy.

The important distinction between our Herbal approach and that of traditional medicine is that; here we are aiming to boost the robust health maintenance and disease fighting systems already at work in every Dog, not just remove or kill cancerous cells – hoping they don’t return. We expect noticeable change and reduced symptoms in the first four to six weeks of having your dog on our Herbal program and ask that you submit regular reports to your McDowell’s Herbal, clinical Consultant.
